Celebrating Conservation with Muskingum Soil & Water

On November 7th, 2024 FoodWorks Alliance staff and board members had the honor of attending the Muskingum Soil & Water Conservation District 80th Annual Celebration of Conservation Meeting and Banquet.  After a delicious meal, followed by cake, we listening to a local beekeeper from Nature’s Image Farm explain the complex teamwork of a bee hive, and watched the ‘Friends of Conservation’ plaques be awarded. We were awarded with the ‘Friends of Conservation’ award for our support of small businesses in our community, our work in reducing food waste by utilizing the Mid-Ohio Produce Pick Up and the Recovery with Purpose Training Program. This provides local women in recovery from substance abuse on the job training, part time schedule, through the Sweet Life Baking Co. We are so grateful to be recognized as a friend of the Muskingum Soil & Water Conservation District, and conservation of our community!
