Our Newest Kitchen Handler

Welcome Laikkin to the kitchen!

On January 13th, The Sweet Life Baking Co. and Foodworks Alliance were thrilled to welcome new trainees into our Recovery with a Purpose Training Program, following the exciting departure of two former trainees who have moved on to new opportunities. Our trainees begin their journey with us by dedicating their first 2-3 weeks to intensive food-safety education training. Upon completion of this training, they attained the ServSafe Food-Handler Certification, which equips them with essential knowledge and skills for their culinary adventures in our kitchen and beyond!

We are pleased to introduce Laikkin who has completed her computer trainings and attained her Level 1 ServSafe Food Handler Certification and is an absolute joy to work with in the kitchen.

We recently had the opportunity to ask Laikkin a few questions to learn more about her. Here’s what she shared with us:

Laikiin is a 33 year old Leo, and mother to two daughters, ages 11 and 10. Her favorite colors are green and purple. Outside of work, Laikkin enjoys reading, cooking, dancing, and singing. She hates peas!

Laikkin’s favorite aspect of her job is baking cakes, particularly the Pineapple Upside Down Cake with Cream Cheese Icing, which was indeed, delicious!

During her time with us, she is eager to expand her knowledge of kitchen appliances and mixers. To date, she has mastered the proper use of knives and the art of baking Bundt cakes, and she is enthusiastic about applying these skills in her own kitchen.
